Maria M. Jackson, RN, MA
Maria M. Jackson has been with IRMS since February of 2009 as an Ovum Donor Nurse Coordinator. For the last several years she was a consultant to a large pharmaceutical company as well as other infertility practices in the US and Canada. Prior she was the Clinical Services Manager RMANJ and the Nurse Manager for the in vitro fertilization (IVF) and Donor Egg Programs at the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science of Saint Barnabas from its inception in1995 until 2000. Maria has written and presented many abstracts on egg donation and has received several awards, including the Organon Nurses Conference Prize Lecture and Abstract Awards. She received her nursing degree at the Bellevue School of Nursing in New York, New York, and her master of education degree in counseling education at Kean University in Union, New Jersey.
“I’ve returned to clinical practice because I missed patient care. I went to Graduate School with the intent to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology. During that time I answered a help wanted ad for a practice that was looking for an infertility nurse and willing to train someone without experience. I took the job and never looked back. My degree in counseling psychology has been put to good use in this field of medicine because of the emotional highs and lows our patients experience.”
In her spare time Maria enjoys yoga, tennis and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, and her dog Sophie.
