The Institute for Reproductive Medicine and
Science of Saint Barnabas (IRMS) is recognized internationally for its ongoing
commitment to the advancement of reproductive medicine and science. While
providing valuable services related to direct patient treatment, our
laboratory and clinical staff are actively involved in medical research
designed to improve patient care.
Our scientific program has two components:
-
the development of new and improved laboratory technologies
- to test new medications and approaches to infertility
treatment
Some of our protocols are experimental in nature and are supervised
by the Internal Review Board of Saint Barnabas Medical Center, part of the
Saint Barnabas Health Care System.
The Institute has either introduced or
substantially improved many IVF-related procedures, including blastocyst
transfer, cytoplasmic transfer, cryopreservation, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis
pgd.
