Dr. Chen graduated from Brown University in Providence Rhode Island. She attended Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina, where she caught her first baby and decided to become an Obstetrician Gynecologist (it was a very cute baby). She then trained in Gynecology and Obstetrics and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Chen is a Founding Partner at the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science, serves as the Director for the Division of Reproductive Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, and is a Clinical Associate Professor at Rutgers, UMDNJ Medical School and the St George’s University School of Medicine.

Dr Chen has consistently been voted by her peers as a Top Doctor in NJ Monthly, Castle Connelly Top Docs NY & NJ, US News and World Report, Inside Jersey Magazine, and NY Magazine. She is also one of less than a handful of reproductive endocrinologists recognized by Inside Jersey Magazine as a Top Doctor in Cancer Care for her work freezing eggs for cancer patients and raising physician and public awareness of OncoFertility and Fertility Preservation. In 2020, Dr. Chen was the recipient of Resolve’s prestigious Hope Award for her tireless advocacy work championing access to care legislation for all diagnosed with infertility.

Dr. Chen loves empowering her patients with information and ideas about their health in an interesting, accessible and practical way. She feels privileged to be at a program that is a leader in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), IUI, IVF, Single Embryo Transfer, LGBTQ family building, egg freezing, OncoFertility and PGT (Preimplantation Genetic Testing), offering individualized counseling, advice and treatment for a wide spectrum of reproductive issues. She strongly supports her patients’ right to be informed and involved in their treatment decisions and is an advocate of access to reproductive care for all.
