Fertility Specialist – Stephanie M. Thompson, MD

Stephanie M. Thompson, MD is a Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility specialist at The Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science (IRMS). She is an attending physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center as well as Division Director for Resident Education. Dr. Thompson is Board Certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Dr. Thompson’s special interests within the field include health and wellness in fertility patients and oocyte cryopreservation.  She is a frequent speaker on egg freezing having appeared on CNN’s “Birth with Lisa Ling”, as well as, “The Dr. Oz” show to discuss this emerging technology. She also regularly addresses groups of women contemplating egg freezing to help them navigate the medical and emotional aspects of the process.

A born communicator and passionate advocate for access to care for all women, Dr. Thompson is an legacy member of the Jack and Jill of America – an organization that provides social, educational as well as cultural opportunities for youth.

Dr. Thompson received her undergraduate degree in Spanish from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC and her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University Medical Center and completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School.

Dr. Thompson has received many honors throughout her academic career and has actively contributed to the scientific literature in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Her research includes “Single vs. Double IUI for Male Factor Infertility” and “Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) stimulation of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) in immortalized endometrial stromal cells”.

Our Hoboken office is conveniently located at 129 Washington Street (on the fourth floor) in Hoboken. Our office hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Morning monitoring is Monday to Friday from 6:30 am – 8:00 am (doors open at 6:15 am).

Our Teaneck office is located in the beautiful Glenpointe office complex at 400 Frank W. Burr Boulevard in Teaneck. It is available for both telemedicine and in-person appointments and is open Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 4:30pm. Morning Monitoring hours are Monday – Friday from 7:00am to 9:00am (doors open at 6:45am).

Our Jersey City office is located at 66 York Street, Suite 301, Jersey City and is just two blocks from the PATH station at Exchange Place and one block from the Light Rail (Exchange Place stop). New Jersey office hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Monitoring is Monday to Friday from 6:30 am – 8:00 am.
